Elizabeth started designing at a very young age; and was sewing by first grade. Her interests in interior design, fashion and quilting, led to the study at the College of Fine and Applied Arts of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the College of Design at the University of Florida. She is a practicing Commercial Interior Designer and holds LEED AP status, a certificate issued by the US Green Building Council for advanced study in green and sustainable de-sign practices.

Her beadwork has been featured in Charlotte Magazine, and the WaxMama daily culture blog. She has served as a beading instructor at a local bead shop, and had designed projects for a Santa’s Workshop for the Boys and Girls Club for the last nine years. Her beadwork has been juried into shows for the American Craft Council and Florida Crafts-man Galleries.

“My architectural and design background has inspired me to create work with texture and spatial presence. I like the endless opportunity for challenging myself with beadwork; it can be an embellishment stitched to a substrate, or have its own architecture. There is great variety in the beads and materials themselves and allow me to explore what my hands can do. Most important to me is that none of my creations exist in a vacuum. No piece is complete until it has a wearer who gives fresh life to the item by infusing merging their personality with mine in the mix of daily life.”
