Amy St. Aubin

Amy St. Aubin was born in Detroit MI in the 1960’s. She grew up there, rural Vermont and in the suburbs of Philadel-phia. Amy received her BFA in Painting from Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore in 1988. She also had at-tended Atlanta College of Art on mobility for a semester. She has lived in Charlotte NC off and on since the mid-1980’s, and has been here steadily since 1996, raising her children and teaching with various arts integration programs in the region.

Ms. St. Aubin has worked on large canvases with oil paint in the past, but is currently working small, on wood, integrat-ing oil with cold wax. Her work has gone from figurative, to portrait and is currently figurative again. She enjoys going back and forth, between more interpretive work to translating images, and between canvas and wood.
